Spain
I just got back from Spain! My sister in law Sarah and I went to visit Whitney, one of my photo assistants. Madrid was a very interesting place. We went to the Prado Museum (lots of work by Goya….) and we also took a day trip to Segovia. Segovia was such a cool place…The famous Roman Aqueduct (2000 years old…all I can say is "wow".)…… is there as well as the Spanish medieval castle "Alcazar" (which was said to have inspired the design of the castle in Disney's Sleeping Beauty). We also went through the Cathedral of Segovia. We took the Metro and did some shopping some cool areas of Madrid and just enjoyed the whole European atmosphere. We stayed at the Palace Hotel. While we were there, the prime minister of South Korea was there (we passed him and his wife as they were entering the hotel lobby) and apparently J Lo was staying at our hotel as well (she was in Madrid promoting a new movie). I've included a few pics of the trip…the castle, aqueduct, streets of Madrid, the Plaze del Corpus Cristi (also in Segovia) and more. Basically the only thing that I didn't care for was the traditional Spanish food……."cochinillo" (also known as "roasted suckling baby pig") is obviously a food of choice….my favorite meal was actually Thai (yum…and we ate at a couple of other very cool places…….next time, I will stay away from those baby pig eatin' joints…ha) …oh and I did love the cheeses! Other then all of the Spanish meats (ick) , we had a terrific time and I ended up with some amazing images. Thanks so much Whitney and Guillermo for hanging out with us and being our official tour guides! We had a blast!!!!
